Information from other sources
We may occasionally collect information about you from commercially available sources such as marketing database providers, where permitted by law, and may combine this with other information we hold.
As you navigate the Site, non-personal information may be passively collected using analytics and reporting technologies, including:
Cookies
Cookies are small files transferred to and stored in your browser. Two types are used on this Site:
- —Session cookies — exist only during your visit and are removed when you close your browser.
- —Persistent cookies — remain on your device after your browser is closed, for a defined period or until you delete them.
You can adjust your browser settings to stop accepting cookies. Doing so may limit some features of the Site. On your first visit, a consent banner is displayed — you may accept or dismiss cookies. If you dismiss, Google reCAPTCHA and Google Analytics will not be loaded. You can reset your preference at any time by clearing your browser’s localStorage.
Web beacons
Web beacons are small graphic elements embedded in web pages or emails that allow us to confirm delivery and interaction. You can limit their ability to capture data by disabling cookies in your browser.
Web analytics
We use web analytics services provided by third parties, including Google Analytics. These services use third-party cookies to collect non-personal information about your use of the Site. They may transfer data to third parties where required by law or where those parties process information on their behalf. Each third-party service has its own privacy policy — please review those policies to understand their practices. Analytics services are only active if you have accepted cookies via the consent banner.
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- —The purposes for which you provided it
- —To identify you as a user of the Site
- —To process and respond to your enquiries

- —To record marketing attribution — UTM parameters and advertising click IDs help us understand which channels are generating enquiries and allocate our advertising budget appropriately. This data is used internally only.
- —To prevent automated spam submissions — your IP address and submission timestamp are used for rate limiting and bot detection. This data is held in server memory only and not persisted to any database.
- —To generate and review reports and data about our user base and service usage patterns
- —To analyse the accuracy, effectiveness, usability, or popularity of the Site
- —To improve the content and features of the Site
- —To compile aggregated user data for internal business purposes
- —To administer and troubleshoot the Site
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for unsolicited direct marketing.
You may choose not to share certain information as described in Section 11 (Your Choices). Information may be disclosed to third parties in the following circumstances:
Service providers
We may use third parties to perform functions in connection with the Site (for example, email delivery, analytics, or form processing). We may share information about you — such as your name and email address — that they need to perform their functions, in accordance with our agreements with them and applicable privacy law.
Business changes
If we become involved in a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, joint venture, bankruptcy, reorganisation, or dissolution, or if the ownership of our business otherwise changes, we may share or transfer your information to a third party in connection with that transaction.
Subsidiaries and affiliates
We may share your information with our parent company (GeoStabilization International, USA) or our affiliates and subsidiaries. These parties will be required to handle your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Legal requirements and law enforcement
Regardless of the choices you make regarding your information, we may disclose it to third parties where we are required or authorised to do so by New Zealand law, including:
- —To comply with a legal obligation, court order, or lawful request from a regulatory body
- —To protect our rights, reputation, safety, or property, or that of our users or others
- —To protect against legal liability or to establish or defend legal claims
- —To investigate, prevent, or take action regarding suspected illegal activity, fraud, or violations of our policies
Aggregated information
We may share aggregated, non-identifiable information about Site visitors and users with affiliated or unaffiliated third parties.
Enquiry data submitted through this website is written to a secure Google Sheet hosted on Google’s infrastructure. Access is restricted to authorised members of the GSI New Zealand team via a Google service account. The sheet is not publicly accessible.
Email notifications are delivered via Microsoft 365 and the Microsoft Graph API to a GSI New Zealand internal email address. These emails are retained in accordance with GSI’s normal email retention practices.
Please be aware that data transmitted via the internet — including information submitted through contact forms or sent by email — cannot be guaranteed to be fully secure in transit. We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information once we receive it, but we cannot guarantee absolute security. You should use caution when submitting personal information online.
Where a notifiable privacy breach occurs that is likely to cause serious harm to affected individuals, we will notify the New Zealand Privacy Commissioner and affected individuals in accordance with our obligations under the Privacy Act 2020.
Email messages sent through the Site are treated as confidential and private, except as required by applicable New Zealand law or court order.
If you have opted in to receive periodic email communications from us and later wish to opt out, you may do so by following the unsubscribe instructions included in any such email, or by contacting us directly using the details in Section 15. We comply with the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007, which prohibits sending unsolicited commercial electronic messages to New Zealand recipients.
This website uses the following third-party services. Each operates under its own privacy policy and is responsible for its own data practices.
Google reCAPTCHA
We use Google reCAPTCHA v3 to protect our contact forms from automated spam. When you interact with a form, reCAPTCHA analyses your behaviour and assigns a risk score, which involves Google collecting hardware and software information including your IP address and browser fingerprint. This service is only active if you have accepted cookies via the consent banner. Google’s Privacy Policy.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to collect anonymised data about Site traffic — including pages visited, time on site, and approximate geographic location. This data does not identify individual visitors. Google Analytics is only active if you have accepted cookies via the consent banner. Google’s Privacy Policy.
Microsoft (email delivery)
Enquiry notification emails are sent via Microsoft 365 and the Microsoft Graph API. The content of your enquiry is included in these emails. Microsoft’s Privacy Statement.
Adobe Fonts (Typekit)
This website loads fonts from Adobe’s Typekit service. Adobe may collect minimal technical data such as your IP address as part of delivering these fonts. Adobe’s Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy applies only to this Site. The Site may contain links to third-party websites or applications (“Third Party Sites”) to which this Privacy Policy does not apply. Links from this Site do not imply that we endorse or have reviewed those Third Party Sites. We cannot control and are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of any Third Party Sites. We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of any Third Party Site before providing information to it.
This website uses cookies for the following purposes:
- —Google reCAPTCHA — sets cookies required for spam risk scoring when you interact with a contact form (only with your consent).
- —Google Analytics — sets cookies to track anonymised usage data across sessions (only with your consent).
- —Consent preference — we store your cookie preference in your browser’s localStorage so the consent banner does not reappear on return visits. This is not a cookie and does not transmit data to any server.
On your first visit, a consent banner is displayed at the bottom of the screen. You may accept or dismiss it. If you dismiss, reCAPTCHA and Google Analytics will not be loaded. You can reset your preference at any time by clearing your browser’s localStorage or adjusting your browser’s cookie settings.
You may request changes to or corrections of your personal information by contacting us using the details in Section 15.
You may opt out of receiving marketing or promotional emails from us at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in those emails or by contacting us directly.
If you use third-party social networking services, you should review and modify your privacy settings on those platforms to control what information they share with us.
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:
- —Access your information — request a copy of any personal information we hold about you (IPP 6). We will respond within 20 working days.
- —Correct your information — request that we correct personal information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant, or misleading (IPP 7).
- —Delete your information — request that we delete your personal information, subject to any legal obligations we may have to retain it.
- —Know the purpose of collection — at the time of collection, you are entitled to know why we are collecting your information and how it will be used (IPP 3).

If you are under 13, please do not submit any personal information through this Site. If you have reason to believe we may have inadvertently received personal information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately using the details in Section 15.
We retain personal information only for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. Enquiry data is typically retained for no longer than three (3) years from the date of submission, in accordance with IPP 9 of the Privacy Act 2020.
