One method to mitigate the rockfall is to allow it to occur and contain or control it’s movement once the dynamic motion begins. Common solutions include hanging a large piece of mesh over the slope’s crest to retard the energy and keep material from bounding into the traveling lanes (rockfall drape);construct a large, flexible barrier near the slope’s toe to stop the rocks’ momentum (rockfall barrier); or fabricate a fence with no bottom rope and a long mesh tail that will allow the rock to travel to the slope’s bottom.
GeoStabilization’s personnel will review the analysis data and choose the best solution for the customer’s specific application. GeoStabilization’s staff of engineers and rock remediation technicians will then utilize our specialized fleet of purpose-built limited-access rock drills to install the mitigation solution. Our team, tools, and expertise make GeoStabilization a true one-stop shop for safe and economical solutions for all types of rockfall mitigation and rock slope stabilization.
